Competency Architectures

Organizing principles and hierarchies used in managing competencies.  For example, competencies can be arranged in clusters such as:

Shared / common / core - competencies that are relevant to "all" employees

Core technical - competencies that may be relevant to all employees in a particular operating department or business unit

Specialized technical - competencies that may be relevant to a specific position within a department

Leadership - competencies that are relevant to those with leadership responsibilities

(other categories might include:  Management, Teamwork, Supervision, etc.)
